Outline for 2nd Student Focused Video
As a follow-up to my How to set up a SmartBoard video, I will do 5 SmartBoard Notebook Tool Tricks. It is a quick way to showcase a few things that the SmarBoard has to offer that teachers will hopefully find useful. The video starts with live action and then is a screencasting...
SmartNotebook 10 - Tips and Tricks (for the Technology section of Light Bulbs)
1) Title of the video on a SmartBoard (upbeat music playing courtesy of GarageBand)
2) I open the video by talking with Smarty - The SmartBoard character about how great the SmartBoard is and telling the viewer how many great things that can be done with the software.
3)"Tip 1 - You don't need the SmartBoard to plan a lesson" - Smarty gets offended and pushed out of the way.
4) Shot of computer loading the notebook software "All you need is a computer with the Notebook software"
5) New Tools - Magic Pen - Showcase of how the magic pen works
6) My Gallery - Show how to save pictures to use over and over again - Export Gallery
7)What about erasing - The eraser trick that saves time (Circle Tap)
8)Printing from Word or other Programs to Notebook Software...
9) And that's it - Five tips that will make your SmartBoard use even easier and better
10) Smarty comes onto the screen and says goodbye
11) Credits over music
I have been thinking about this idea for a few weeks now - and although it is mostly a screencast, I will try to use effects and text to make it even more engaging - Also I decided to throw in the SmartBoard character again because he was a "big hit" - and I like mixing live action with the screencast - makes the video more entertaining.
Please let me know what you all think - I will be happy to entertain any ideas or suggestions!
Thanks,
Adam

How To Set Up A SmartBoard
How To Set Up A SmartBoard from AdamBellow on Vimeo.
Here is my video on How To Set Up a SmartBoard. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!
Adam
Video Project 1 - Resources Needed
I was about half way finished with the video when my program quit out on me. The file was corrupted and I had to re-do the entire thing. That means that I have already put in over 12 hours on this thing. Don't mean to complain - but that sure was frustrating.
My video is about how to set up a SmartBoard and I am making it for teachers as a reference. Many times I hear people talk about how scary it is - so my goal is to make it not so scary and give them a format which they can watch and review as many times as they want. In less than 3 minutes they will see a board get set up completely and be readied to work with a computer.
I plan on making my next video a tutorial of all the great tools and tricks that you can do with the SmartBoard.
Anyway...
I filmed the video using my SONY HDR-SR12 High Def video camera and used the website GoAnimate.com to create a brief animated sequence that I am using as a Picture in Picture enhancement to my project.
I created a few short tracks of music using GarageBand
I also created a few graphics and logos using PhotoShop
I am throwing the whole thing together in iMovie and GarageBand
As with any video projects, time and preparing for the editing has made it a bit easier, but I still have work to do... Video should be done in a day or so... but we'll see.
